Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement care plans based on individual needs and preferences
– Assist individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
– Support individuals in their daily activities including meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping
– Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
– Communicate effectively with individuals, their families, and other healthcare professionals
– Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
– Utilize IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
– Drive individuals to appointments or outings as required – Assist with shopping and meal preparation according to care plans.
Policy Procedures:
- Adhere to company policies and maintain confidentiality.
- Ensure the welfare and safety of service users and staff.
- Uphold hygiene standards in work areas.
- Perform duties as required within the service.
Experience:
– Previous experience in a similar role, particularly with individuals with physical and learning disabilities.
– Proficient in English language (verbal and written)
– Familiarity with care plans and providing personal care
– Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
– Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
Qualifications:
– NVQ2 or equivalent qualification.
Preffered Skills:
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
– Objective and non-discriminatory approach.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
– Willingness to learn and apply new skills.
Other
– Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to clients’ development.
– Possess a clean driving license (preferred).
- Maintain DBS clearance.
